Some interesting results, which I would like to share.
Stormy - 2010 Colt - at 6 days old (3 weeks early, and small). Mare is not on Kompeet.
Stormy at 8 months old.
A very fussy eater.
Just being started on Kompeet (slowly increasing the amount)
Stormy at 13 months old.
Still a very fussy eater.
Kompeet is up to 300gms daily.
Stormy at the Yearling Sales - 14 months old.
Annie (2010 Filly), on the day she was born
Annie at 6 months old.
Mare was on Kompeet, when she was brought home from stud, at around 2 months old.
The mare was not only able to put weight on herself, while lactating, but the amazing thing was, that she was able to produce a huge amount of milk at the same time, to enable the foal to grow, and GROW she did!
Stormy and Annie as weanlings
(Annie's [Left] dam was on Kompeet while lactating, Stormy's [Right] dam was not on Kompeet while lactating)
I truely believe the amazing growth in Annie, was due to the fact that her dam was on Kompeet while she was lactating.
At 7 months old, Annie jumped out of her post and railed paddock with room to spare.
At 9 months old, Annie was the same height as her older full sister (2009 filly)
Bamm-Bamm, (2011 Colt) at 2 days old. Same dam as Stormy, born 3 weeks early, and basically the same size as Stormy
Dam was started on 150gms of Kompeet, about 1 month out from foaling.
Dam was boosted up to 450gms of Kompeet, as soon as she foaled.
Bamm-Bamm at 1 month old
Bamm-Bamm at 2 months old
Bamm-Bamm is showing the same grown patterns as Annie, growing steady and continuously. He is a big bodied colt, and is definitely a lot taller than his 1/2 brother Stormy at the same point in time.
The mare is also looking great for being 19 years old, and the best thing was, that she got back in foal with the first insemination!!!
These are just a couple of results/case studies that I have recorded!
After these results, I will definitely be feeding my broodmares Kompeet, and continue it with their youngsters when they are weaned.
